The Best in town

Vicki and Charlie Ard opened Fill A Bagel, Jenkintown June 14th, 1994 with 4 staff members. Word spread quickly that a little shop in Jenkintown was making real NY style bagels! Since then, Fill A Bagel has grown considerably. We now employ a staff of nearly 50 people, with 2 locations and operate under the name Fill A Bagel and Breads.

At Fill A Bagel & Breads, serving the highest quality bagels and baked goods is our passion. We serve our customers like they’re our family, and strive to make your catering a superior experience. This commitment to the highest quality food and customer service has earned us numerous business awards. We also contribute to the communities we serve and donate daily to local charities.

The World on a bagel

Fill A Bagel offers its customers the best of everything! Our expansive menu is sure to have something the whole family will enjoy. Muffins, pastries, sticky buns and real NY style Black & White cookies are among many goodies baked daily. These delicious treats are great to give someone the sugar rush they need to get through their afternoon slump. Excellent La Colombe coffees, espresso, cappuccino and gourmet teas top off the fare.

Oh, and the Breads, They are Wonderful!
Crusty on the outside and soft on the inside, the taste that only a hearth oven can create. Our staff of 3 full time bakers prepare new and exciting items each dawn.

In the beginning...

For 2 years prior to the opening of Fill A Bagel, Charlie and Vicki Ard ate bagels, talked about bagels and looked at bagel shops all over the United States. They must have checked out over 50 shops in at least 6 states. They were serious about creating the best bagel shop. Their goal was to make a great bagel, have excellent customer service in a clean, reputable and community oriented shop. They wanted to set a standard by which others would model themselves.

Old Fashioned Goodness

Fill A Bagel makes their bagels the “Old Fashioned Way”. Our bagels are mixed, boiled, and baked on our premises. Unlike our competitors, they never see the inside of a factory. We offer 17 different types of bagels and up to 20 different types of breads and other goodies that are baked daily. Stop by and you can watch as our bakers create your favorites. 

Only the freshest of ingredients are used to assemble any of our hand crafted sandwiches. Our deli sandwiches are stuffed with Dietz & Watson meats and cheeses, egg salad, chicken salad, tuna salad, whitefish, and more. Our sliced Nova is even said to be the best in town. You can fill a bagel or bread with just about anything you could imagine!

Our menu is guaranteed to have something for every person in your family, even those with vegetarian or gluten free diets. Vegetarians love Fill A Bagel because we have so much to offer including a large variety of cheeses, tossed garden salads, salad bagels, veggie hoagies, hummus, and tofutti. Any sandwich can be modified to use one of our partner’s gluten free bagel options. Try our new avocado toast or arugula salad! They’re Fill A Bagel FAB!
